Jeff is one of only 1,715 of the more than 71,000 lawyers in Texas to achieve board certification in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

What does "board certified" mean?

The Texas Board of Legal Specialization certifies attorneys in 18 specific areas of law. Application for certification is voluntary for attorneys, and board certification is valid for five years. Board certified attorneys have met specific requirements and passed a day-long written examination in their area of specialization. To stay certified, an attorney must meet substantial requirements for his or her specialty area, which include peer review and continuing legal education. This very rigorous and demanding certification process helps insure that the citizens of Texas receive the highest quality legal services.

To become board certified in a specialty area, an attorney must have:

Attorney Michael Singley

Mike is proud to pursue justice for families whose lives have been shattered by wrongdoing. Mike spent the early years of his legal career at large law firms representing big companies in personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits. Seeing victims that had been seriously injured and killed weighed heavily on Mike and made him reevaluate the direction of his career. In 2002, Mike and his partner Jeff decided to stop representing big companies and put their experience to work for the victims of wrongdoing by founding Mundy & Singley, L.L.P.

Mike grew up in Houston, and has lived in Austin since he started law school in 1992. After graduating from Stanford University in 1991, Mike came back home to Texas and earned his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1995. Mike began his legal career in 1995-6 as a briefing attorney for Justice Mack Kidd of the Texas Court of Appeals in Austin. After clerking for Judge Kidd, Mike worked at large Austin law firms until he and Jeff Mundy founded Mundy & Singley, L.L.P. in 2002 to provide their personalized services to clients in Austin, Houston, and all Texas communities as personal injury attorneys.

Mike is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, the Supreme Court of the United States, the Court of Appeals for the United States for the Fifth Circuit, and all District Courts of the United States in Texas.

Mike strongly believes in the importance of community service and has been actively involved with Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic (RFB&D) since 1999. RFB&D produces and distributes audio textbooks for visually impaired and learning disabled students so that they can learn by listening and have equal access to the printed word.

Mike has been a member of the board of directors and a volunteer reader for the Texas Unit since 1999, and recently received the honor of a nomination to the RFB&D national board of directors in 2006.

Mike and his wife Vanderlyn have been married since 1999.
